Computeractive — Issue 702 (29 January–11 February 2025)

ChatGPT, Windows updates, scam calls and everyday PC frustrations all get practical attention in Computeractive Issue 702. This fortnightly issue pairs a substantial introduction to using ChatGPT with clear-eyed coverage of Windows 11 24H2, consumer technology news, hands-on advice and product reviews.

Make more practical use of ChatGPT

The cover feature looks at how ChatGPT can help with everyday tasks, from finding answers and summarising long documents to drafting complaint letters and generating images from text. Alongside the feature, the issue includes ChatGPT questions and guidance on getting started, giving the AI topic a practical, user-focused place in the magazine.

Windows advice with the rough edges included

Windows 11 24H2 is in focus: the issue discusses reported update problems and ways to address them, as well as getting useful tools without upgrading. There is also guidance on removing Copilot and other unwanted software, plus advice on erasing personal information from an old phone before passing it on.

Useful fixes, tips and tech news

Across its news, consumer advice and workshop pages, Issue 702 takes in landline-upgrade scams, spam prevention, email aliases, text expanders, browser and phone tips, spreadsheet printing, Clipchamp and more. The mix connects timely technology stories with small, practical tasks readers can try on their own devices.

Reviews and recommendations

The issue reviews a varied selection of equipment, including mini PCs, a Chromebook, a tablet, a laser printer, a security camera, a mouse, a charger and the Raspberry Pi 500. Readers will also find free-software guidance, troubleshooting answers and reader-submitted tips.
